Triathlons are nothing new to Spectrum Sports Management, LLC. Spectrum Sports has helped managed many triathlon events- one being the Trek Duathlon which was held on Disneyland property in Southern California in 2009. The Trek Women Duathlon was an enjoyable race that generated positive feedback from it's participants, so we are excited to help manage additional Trek events in 2010. 
The Trek Women Triathlon Series is a collection of events around the country designed to provide a fun, non-intimidating atmosphere for aspiring and experienced triathletes alike.
This year Spectrum Sports is moving it's efforts up north to manage a Trek Women Triathlon in the city of Pleasanton, a part of the East Bay, and then later in the year, south again to manage an October Trek event in Palm Springs. The June 27th Pleasanton triathlon consists of:
- 1/2 mile swim
- 12 mile bike
- 3.1 mile run
Come swim, bike, and run with us for a positive experience you'll never forget! Enjoy the Northern California ambiance and the support of women from all over the US looking to complete in their first triathlon as well!

We're headed North!
We greatly enjoy producing and managing events in Southern California but can't wait to broaden our running audience in the Northern California area. This June our Spectrum Sports team will be managing an event that is part of the national Trek Women Triathlon Series being held in Pleasanton, CA. This is the first time we will be managing an event in the Northern California area so we want to give you an inside look at how we are doing it. The first step that we needed to complete in preparation for this event was to research the local area-- locate & secure the course while working in conjunction with the city to communicate road closures. Then we searched to find the best local vendors to assist in the operational elements that are needed to bring the athletes a well executed event. Now we are looking to finalize race details and get our Spectrum Sports team up north to the race site to manage a safe and fun triathlon for all types of women who will arrive on June 27th in Pleasanton to participate in this triathlon! We hope we will see you there! NOTE: Last month had a great turn-out at a triathlon training session held in a local sponsor, Livermore Cyclery's store where Sally Edwards, Triathlon Hall of Famer, shared the "how to" of Training for a Tri to many first-time triathletes preparing for the 2010 Trek Women Triathlon Series.

There are two runs with special entry discounts that you may want to consider for great training- especially if you are planning on running in November at the Catalina Eco Marathon/10K/5K.

It's recommended to drink a minimum of eight glasses of water a day--but this doesn't apply to the days you workout. Drinking a large glass of water approximately 10-20 minutes before a workout, and 4-8 ounces of water every ten minutes during a workout will keep you hydrated and functioning through and well after your workout. So go grab yourself a glass of H2O and hydrate yourself!

Down & Dirty National Mud Run Series/ Cinco de Mayo 1/2 Marathon
