Mike Bone

President/CEO

Mike Bone is the President and owner of Spectrum Sports Management, Inc., Mike has been involved in owning and operating sports marketing/management companies in Southern California for over twenty-five years and is an acknowledged leader in event management and seasoned professional in sponsorship packaging and sales.

Kevin Carrera

Vice President/ Partner

Kevin joined Spectrum Sports Management in 2006 as the Director of Events learning the business from the ground up. Over the years he has been promoted to his current position of Vice President – overseeing all event management, budgeting and staffing for events produced at Spectrum Sports. His responsibilities cover all operational and budgeting responsibilities of Spectrum Sports' many events, from client meetings to establishing goals and objectives, creating timelines and budgets, and hiring staffing and vendors for the event. In short, he makes it happen!

Greg Sack

Senior Director of Timing

Greg Sack is the Sr. Director of Timing and representative for Spectrum Timing Services, Inc. Greg has been with STS since its inception after working for Spectrum Sports Management, Inc. in special events for four years. This combined background is a huge benefit to events that require timing, registration and data management. Greg understands the needs from both sides of the equation and can assist on events or with the registration and timing.

Katie Bergsma

Marketing and Branding

As Marketing and Branding Manager at Spectrum Sports Management, Katie is involved in our overall marketing stategy and social media campaigns. She is responsible for our community outreach and ambassador programs. Katie oversees all of our orders from race shirts, bibs, and medals to event signage and downplans. In short, she makes sure that all the spokes of our events represent the Spectrum Sports brand.

KC Ollila

Event Director

KC has been working with Spectrum Sports Management and Spectrum Timing Services for the past year. On the timing side, she is an expert in the registration process as well as the hardware and software. On the Spectrum Sports Management side, she focuses on operations, volunteer management, and expo management. KC has a strong background in database management and understands every aspect of event production. She will work to understand your objectives, bringing solutions and ideas to enhance your event and implementing these plans onsite.

Ratha Harntha

Operations Director/Consultant

Ratha Harntha has been working in the event industry for over 18 years. Most recently, Ratha was the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles, overseeing functional areas such as logistics, venue development, vendor overlay, medical, security and transportation.
Previous to the Special Olympics, he worked for companies such as International Management Group (IMG), On Board Experiential Marketing and Stanford University Athletic Department. He has produced numerous festivals and multi- sport and music events including the US Open of Surfing, Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, JPMorgan Chase Open, Bank of the West Tennis Classic, Bud Bowl and the AVP Manhattan Beach Open.
Ratha holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Tom Books

Senior Partner

Tom brings over two decades of event experience to the Spectrum Sports team after a career in financial management. Tom is one of our leaders on events generally tackling the most complicated and nuanced projects on any given assignment. His role as the Assistant General Manager for Long Beach during the 2015 Special Olympic World Games; or operating the corrals for the runDisney half marathons; or another high profile role Tom will guarantee a successful projects.

Nick Maedel

Senior Partner/Course Director

Nick will mainly be found setting up and operating our courses for runs and rides, as well as pitching in on other projects as needed. After a successful running career at Florida State University, Nick moved to California where he helps run his wife’s medical practice, works on designing and managing courses and trains for marathons and Ironman competitions, when not working as a team leader for Spectrum Sports.

Joe Donaldson

Traffic Consultant

Joe has built a reputation as the leading expert in traffic management, traffic plans and course flow in the running and endurance market throughout Southern California. His experience encompasses literally hundreds of runs and triathlons and he has been involved in Spectrum Sports’ event management team for well over a decade and has been involved in the development of the runDisney courses; Special Olympic World Games and all other events we manage that require road closures and traffic management.

Lev Vanshelbaum

Senior Partner

Lev is an event professional who understands all of the nuances of a professionally managed road race. His experience encompasses large scale events including the L.A. Marathon to the start line and finish line management of the runDisney half marathons. He has been a consistent figure at Spectrum Sports events since our beginning and always brings a sense of humor and a great perspective of the day’s event and activities.
