Mike Bone
President/CEO
Mike Bone is the President and owner of Spectrum Sports Management, Inc., Mike has been involved in owning and operating sports marketing/management companies in Southern California for over twenty-five years and is an acknowledged leader in event management and seasoned professional in sponsorship packaging and sales.
Greg Sack
Vice President
Greg Sack is our Vice President who is involved in all strategic management decisions and account management. Greg has spent five years growing and developing Spectrum Timing Services, and now bring that management experience to bear for Spectrum Sports Management. While remaining the day-to-day leader for timing and registration services, he is involved in all event management and company initiatives with the primary objective of driving and maintaining Spectrum Sports as the ‘Best in Class’ throughout all of Southern California. His combined background is a huge benefit to events that require timing, registration, data management and superior event management. Greg understands the needs from both sides of the equation and can assist on events or with the registration and timing.
Melanie Cardenas
Director of Timing
Melanie is a native of Southern California and an expert in the operation and scoring on multiple timing platforms. Before joining Spectrum Sports, she was a lead timer with Spartan Race where she spent over 5 years working her way up from on-site customer and hardware support, to team lead and lead timer both domestically and abroad. As a lead timer, she was able to lend her expertise in creating scoring and results auditing protocols as new events were rolled out to market. Now she brings her skills for registration, timing, and race data analysis to the Spectrum team.
Jo Ann Low
Registration & Solutions Lead
Jo Ann started as a volunteer for Run Disney and since then has helped manage runner relations and event volunteers for over a decade. At Spectrum Sports she leads runner registration and packet pick up solutions assisting participants with any and all questions. Jo Ann is an avid athlete herself, running races and triathlon events. She enjoys working with volunteers and staff to help create the best possible event experience for participants. Jo Ann has a B.S. Degree in Accounting from Loma Linda University, La Sierra.
KC Ollila
Director of Events
KC is in her second stint with Spectrum Sports Management having worked for three years primarily in our timing business, she rejoins the team as the Director of Events overseeing the planning, budgeting, client relationship and management of the roster of Spectrum Sports Management events. KC’s primary background for the past 12 years has been in the operations and planning of events, in her current role she will assume the direct oversight of all events and event staff.
Curtis Casper
Event Coordinator
Curtis is a Southern California native, he has been an active athlete his entire life and attended school locally at Cal State Long Beach where he played NCAA Division I Water Polo. After graduating, Curtis remained involved in the sport and successfully coached various youth programs in the region.

Katie Bergsma
Senior Partner/Marketing & Social Media
Katie brings over three years of experience working in marketing, promotions and social media platforms to the Spectrum Sports Management team. Indeed she served in this capacity for several years as a full-time staff member of our team. After moving to Colorado to pursue her educations, Katie remains an integral part of our marketing and social media planning, budgeting and execution plans. In addition she is an expert in registration and runner services for all events managed by Spectrum Sports. She is a native of Orange County, CA having graduated from the University of California at Irvine and has been raised in the Endurance landscape through working with her relatives who are leaders in the triathlon market.
Nick Maedel
Senior Partner/Course Director
Nick will mainly be found setting up and operating our courses for runs and rides, as well as pitching in on other projects as needed. After a successful running career at Florida State University, Nick moved to California where he helps run his wife’s medical practice, works on designing and managing courses and trains for marathons and Ironman competitions, when not working as a team leader for Spectrum Sports.
Joe Donaldson
Traffic Consultant
Joe has built a reputation as the leading expert in traffic management, traffic plans and course flow in the running and endurance market throughout Southern California. His experience encompasses literally hundreds of runs and triathlons and he has been involved in Spectrum Sports’ event management team for well over a decade and has been involved in the development of the runDisney courses; Special Olympic World Games and all other events we manage that require road closures and traffic management.
Lev Vanshelbaum
Senior Partner
Lev is an event professional who understands all of the nuances of a professionally managed road race. His experience encompasses large scale events including the L.A. Marathon to the start line and finish line management of the runDisney half marathons. He has been a consistent figure at Spectrum Sports events since our beginning and always brings a sense of humor and a great perspective of the day’s event and activities.
